The oral tradition of music is a cornerstone of cultural heritage, and the monthly Irish Jam at Ironside Axe Club brings the rhythmic soul of the Emerald Isle to West Des Moines. This session features local musicians engaging in a traditional “session,” where jigs, reels, and folk songs are played in a communal, improvisational style. It is a masterclass in folk music theory and community performance, offering both musicians and listeners a chance to immerse themselves in a rich, historical auditory landscape.
