The Des Moines Community Orchestra takes the audience on a rhythmic world tour at the Staplin Performing Arts Center. Global Dance Atlas explores how various cultures translate their unique identities into movement and sound. From the tangos of South America to the folk dances of Europe, the repertoire is a masterclass in global musicology. It is a vibrant, educational afternoon that celebrates the diversity of the human experience through the universal language of dance rhythms and orchestral arrangements.
