Epiphytic plants—commonly known as air plants—are the subject of this daily “drop-in” workshop at the Botanical Garden. Participants can learn about the unique biology of Tillandsia species and create a custom home for their own air plant. It is a practical lesson in sustainable indoor gardening and natural aesthetics. This activity emphasizes the importance of understanding the specific environmental needs of different plant families, allowing attendees to take home a living piece of art that requires no soil to thrive.
