Spring gardening begins in the laboratory. This workshop at the Botanical Garden addresses the common failures of germination—from poor light to dormancy issues. Participants learn the science of “waking up” seeds and the technical requirements for growing healthy seedlings indoors. It is a practical, hands-on lesson that includes starting your own seeds in class to take home. For the aspiring gardener, this is an essential first step in ensuring a successful and productive summer growing season.
