Aquatic botany is the focus of this unique workshop at the Botanical Garden. Participants learn about the biology of Marimo Moss Balls—rare algal spheres found in freshwater lakes—and create a custom aquarium for them. It is a lesson in miniature ecosystem design and the science of aquatic plant care. Great for ages 10 and up, the class provides a glass container and decor, allowing students to take home a low-maintenance, living biological specimen that serves as a fascinating introduction to the world of water-based flora.
